Louise contacted us a while ago with a view to promote the work of Dan Aid
and to get teenagers and young people aware of our campaign across West Yorkshire.
Louise organised a fantastic music event at the popular venue "Josephs Well" in Leeds

Louise Rigg a CSV volunteer @ BBC Radio Leeds
organised this event and here she explains why she wanted to help.

I first heard about Dan Aid through the Sheffield Agent 4 Change Vicky Powers.
during a team meeting, Vicky explained the story behind Dan Aid, the facts
about body piercing and how the tragic event could have been avoided
if certain information was made available to Daniel and his family.

Upon hearing Dan's story I knew instantly that I wanted to promote
all aspects of Dan Aid and safe body piercing in Leeds. I wanted to
target a large audience of young people who would directly benefit
from the knowledge of safer piercing. I decided with the help of
some dedicated volunteers to put on a live music concert.

This live music concert took place at "Josephs Well," the liveliest venue in Leeds,
on Friday 13th June 2008.  At this Dan Aid "Mix & Mash" event, a selection of local and
regional bands were invited to volunteer their time and talents to raise money for Dan Aid.
This event was a great way to help support Dan Aid and spread the message for a safer piercing practice.

My name is Louise Rigg and I am a CSV Agent 4 Change working at BBC Leeds.
I am 23 and have a huge interest in the media and young people
and love finding new ways on how young people can express themselves.
It is my job over the next few months to encourage 300 young
people to volunteer in some way to help their community.
