Local Authorities on piercing related matters.

The unscrupulous sale of Tattoo Equipment to Non-Registered persons and premises. Companies, including
online auction sites, are allowing Tattoo Equipment to be sold directly to the public. This presents a very
serious health risk. Tattooists in the UK are required to register with their Local Health Authority at great
expense. It is only fair and lawful that companies be made to guarantee that equipment sales are restricted
to Registered Premises.

The Dan Aid Team wholeheartedly support this recommendation.

Graham Martin is a Senior Body Piercer at Thou Art in Sheffield. Graham boasts
Thou Art as being the leading studio in the UK for setting hygeine standards.
Graham is actively involved in all aspects of the Body Piercing Industry and is
working to improve standards and educate people on safe piercing techniques.

Thou Art & Dan Aid

I was initially invited to work with the Safeguarding Children Focus Group on Body Piercing. It was at this
group that I first met Christina Anderson. From the progression of this group, I found that both Christina
and I were able to find common ground and common goals in regards to body piercing. We also share
a strong belief that there are numerous things wrong with the system behind it. I love my career, body
piercing and tattooing is a huge part of my life and I shall do all I can to help promote safe practice and
better standards within the industry. These aims are also shared by Christina and so it only makes
sense to share our resources and experience to further both our causes.

Dan Aid should not exist, in an ideal world there would be no need for this foundation to exist. Had standards
been higher, Daniel would still be here today and Christina and I would never have met. It is our aim that
there shall be no more tragedies such as Daniels death. We shall fight to raise the standards and drag this
industry into the 21st century.
