To all family and friends-
To Danny*

As i lie awake
i dream of you
Wonderin what else
was there i could do4u
I never wanted to
leave your side
I felt your pain,I
watched u as u cried
I wished i could
have left with u
A life in heaven to
spend with you
But all i have is
what uv given to me
You helped me try,
you made me see
Il leave u now but not
long we'll be part
You're always here
close in my heart

Ciara*

Do not stand at my
grave and weep;
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand
winds that blow.
I am the diamond
glints on snow.
I am the sunlight
on ripened grain.
I am the gentle
autumn rain.
When you awaken in
the morning's hush
I am the swift
uplifting rush
Of quiet birds
in circled flight.
I am the soft stars
that shine at night.
Do not stand at
my grave and cry;
I am not there.
I did not die.

To Daniel's friends and family
I just want to say that your all doing a wondeful job of raising awareness about the dangers of
body piercing.  I never met Daniel but I saw him play a few times and we went to the same college.
It's so devestating when someone so young dies and your all being so strong.
I'm sure your overwhelmed by all the messages but I would like to add a poem that has

battle of bands and school visit
Post by Natalie w on May 21, 2006, 11:05am
A while ago your son came to my school, The city school. Chris was a real help because he made me realise
more things about piercing then Ive ever known before. He made me see that the little things in life like
a simple piercing could ruin many peoples lifes and destroy them.
It wasn't a while ago that a 9 year old girl died of meningitis that i know.
She was turned down by 3 doctors and sent home. This hasn't got anything to do with body piercing but
the fact is i am saying this because your campaign has inspired me to campier about meningitis
.I can see in Chris that hes fighting hard and I'm sure you all are. Even if the petition didn't work and their
was still no regulations, you should be proud of yourself for how far you have come.
You've made many people see the dangers of piercing and these people will carry it with them for
the rest of their life and pass it on to others, making them see the dangers before its to late.
I'm sure Daniel would be proud of everyone who's helped especially christana because it takes alot to stand
up infront of people and talk about such a subject. Ive down loaded your petition and ill make sure i get
as many signnatures as i can. Another thing i wanted to talk about was the battle of the bands..
it was amazing. Chris band was just beautiful everything about it from the music to the people
was thernominal. Normally im not a rocky girl but his band had me rocking and dancing.
The raffle seemed a success ...i was shocked when i won a swim voucher
.i neva win anything. but overall when christina gave a speech, i could see in christinas face the hurtrid
but determination she has and i hope it all goes well and the petition changes laws.
Good look and thanks for the inspiration. love natalie w
Natalie's message below is very poignant.
She has expressed absolutely how we feel.
We are also very much in admiration of her own
strength, determination and courage.
We have been overwhelmed by all the wonderful messages and sentiments of love
support and condolance we have recieved from you on our Forum.
We have gained a great deal of comfort in reading them all. Thank you for caring.
Many are from Dan's friends but some also from complete strangers.
We thought it would be fitting and also a privelidge to share some of those messages with you

Dan is still with you and everyone else who knew him...he didn't leave you,
he never will hes right by your side looking after you making sure your okay!!
I've told alot of my mates about what happened to Dan
and as with me they wish you all the very best of luck with everything that is going on.
Some day soon people will know more about the dangers of piercing.
Even though Dan died hes always going to be here...thanking you.
He will NEVER forget any of you!!! ~Katie~ xxx

I am very sorry to hear of your loss.
you have my sympathy.
I also respect all the work you've done
on this site and with newspapers to
make people aware of the risks.
I guess one positive thing
you can take with you
is other possible tragedies you
may have prevented
by making people aware
of the risks of piercings.
my deepest sympathies,
Tom

hey my name is daniel haynes,

and was in ur dans year.
i came 2 ur house a few times
and ur dan came 2 mine aswel.
here r my condolances
and i wil never 4get the
great times me and dan shared.
this website is a great tribute
and a great way of
teaching people about the risks
and dangers ov piercings!
all the best dan xx

My sympathies
You don't know me either, but Suzanne told me
about this site, and about what happened.
I know this will not mean much seeing as I'm a
complete stranger and didn't know Dan,
but I am truely sorry.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
This is so tragic, but I really hope this site
will bring awareness to others and hopefully
prevent this from happening again.

this message is to all of daniels family and friends.
I am so happy that finally after these years you got some of the answers to your questions.
I only hope the stregnth you have from daniels spirit keeps you fighting for justice so that his
tragic passing was not in vain. and more people are aware of the dangers in body piercing.
I only wish this information had been made available years ago.
Christina, I think you are a very strong and brave lady,
and i know you have done your son proud. keep up the good work.
If ever there is anything i can do to help in your cause, just say the word,
i would be more than happy to. I have been registered on this site since it started just over
2 and a half years ago, and have followed it ever since.
it is amazing to see the amount of support from people who want to raise awarness
and also the people who you have inspired and made aware of the facts.
You are truly an amazing person, and Dans spirit will live on in you forever x  Laura

my mate gave me a link to this site,
i feel totally devastated that this
could happen to such
a young and vibrant person.
This county is full of useless laws
and ppl making a fool of them,
why cant things change
and protect good ppl?
If no one stands up then
nothing will change.
To Daniel,
a true friend, who didn't have a care in the world, who did what all kids do,
he brought a smile to our faces and joy in to our lives.
missed so much. keep heaven rocking Dan x x x x x x x

Many thanks and carry on the good work. i dunno whether dan ever mentioned me
but dan was my best mate from the moment we talked in year 8.
my names leanne i know you dont need any reassurance that danny was a
superb character but i would just like to say that i loved him to bits.
danny was the kind of guy that could walk into a room and light it up with only a smile.
he was loved by everyone and was funny in whatever he did.
dan was there for me through all the bad times in my life and he helped
me through them as he was such a strong character. he made me see that life was
worth living and you should live it to the full every minute that you are here.
danny always sed i was his big sister and he was my little brother
and when i found out he had passed i felt like i really had lost a brother.
danny was the coolest, most talented person i knew, words cant describe
how much im missing danny so god only knows what it is like for you his mum.
i really hope that something can be done about this and i wish you all the luck with campaigning
